Dromara

Patrick McKenney has kindly donated a wealth of information on the parish of Dromara, including his own research and photographs.  Documents include a transcription of the "Church and Parish of St. Michael, Dromara" - marking the 150th Anniversary of the dedication of the church.  This booklet was researched and written by Canon Treanor and published by the Mourne Observer Press (1985).  Also available is a photograph of the priests of Dromara.

This photograph was taken by Patrick McKenney in the 1980's showing the collection of buildings near the church. The bridge and road is called "Massford". Patrick was told that before there was a bridge, there was a ford across the small river that the people used to go to mass at the church. Hence Massford.

This photograph of the cemetery was also taken in the 1980s by Patrick McKenney.
