He was the only son of the late Sergeant Patrick Troy, RIC, and Mrs. Troy, New Ross, and two of his sisters reside at Michael St., and another is living in Dublin. The deceased left New Ross a young man and his studious and self respecting manner gave promise of a successful future. For years and up to the time of his death, he filled his responsible position with an ability and fidelity that won the highest esteem. He was extremely popular in the Land of the Southern Cross, and has a family of ten children. His eldest daughter is a nun in the Convent of St Joseph's, Fremantle, West Australia. His funeral was attended by leading people of Geraldton and other centres, and the interment took place in the local Catholic cemetery after (illegible) and High Mass.
