HOLY TRINITY CEMETERY, MOUNT TEMPLE, COUNTY WESTMEATH, IRELAND

Photo No.0
Sign describing cemetery:
Holy Trinity Cemetery is founded on the site of an early Christian
church. It was the mother church of the old parish of Ballyloughloe,
whose perimeter once extended much further than the present-daparish
boundary. The church was established under the patronage of the local
Gaelic Magawley chieftains. It continued to flourish under the Norman
Tuites and through the turbulent Cromwellian period of the 17th century
up to recent times.
