The gentleman is my great-grandfather, the first of four named Patrick Joseph
McCann. This snapshot 
was taken two-three months before his death in July 1942 in his southside Chicago
backyard

Additional Comments:
Patrick was born on March 17, 1960 and baptized on March 19, 1860 in Castlepollard,
Co. Westmeath . 
His parent were James McCann and Cathrine Gibney McCann of the same place. He left
Ireland with his 
parents and arrived in New York at Castle Garden aboard the "Constellation" on May
2, 1861. A sister, 
Anna Bridget was born on board in the harbor! Eventually the family ended up in
Chicago where the 
remainder of his siblings were born. Patrick married Katherine Mary Agnes Ivory
there in 1890.
