SMYTH BURNSIDE D.D. | Chancellor of the Cathedral of Clogher
| and only surviving son of the late | MATHEW JAMES BURNSIDE
Esq.r J.P. D.L. | he was long the valued pastor of this
church | and afterwards Rector of the parishes of | Muckno,
Magheracross, and Aughalurchur | for 50 years a faithful
minister of Christ | and "valiant for the truth upon the
earth" | he fell asleep in Jesus at Corcreevey House, | 14th
January 1884, aged 73 years. This tablet is erected to his
beloved and | revered memory by his children. Then are they
glad because they are at rest | and so he bringeth them to
the haven where | they would be. (2 Plaques beneath)
