Lowell Sun, Lowell, MA 24 March 1963
James D. Burns Sr. of 394 High St., died
Saturday night at St. John's hospital. Born
in the town of Boyle in County Roscommon,
Ireland, the son of the late John and the late
Winifred (Davey) Burns, he was the widower
of Agnes B. (Delaney) Burns. He had been a
resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell more
than 50 years and was employed as a 
custodian at the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank.
He was a communicant of the Immaculate 
Conception church. Surviving him are four 
daughters: Mrs. Joseph D. Meehan; Mrs. Paul
Gallagher; Mrs. Joseph P. Hayes; and Mrs.
Martin Hoar; two sons James D. Burns Jr.
and John B. Burns, both of Lowell; 10 
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
