The High Cross was recovered from a nearby bog by one of the Leslie family, no family named on it. 1 The "Baptist Johnston" stone inserted in the walls of the old ruined church. Baptist Johnston was second in command of the Williamite forces at the Battle of Drumbanagher in 1688 - both Williamite & Jacobite leaders were buried in the same graveyard. 2 Erected | By | JOHN ASKIN, Donagh | In Loving Memory of | Hist Mother CATHERINE ASKIN, | Who Died 16th August 1898 | His Daughter CATHERINE SMYTH, Who Died 19th October 1910 | His Son FRANCIS | Who Died 9th August 1914. | And His Wife Mary, | Who Died 6th June 1915 | Also MARGARET Wife of | Patrick ASKIN, Who Died 27th Dec 1919 | Also The Above JOHN ASKIN | Who Died 21st June 1920 | Also His Son Patrick | Who Died 9th Jan. 1949 | And His Son Edward | Who Died 11th August 1954 | And His Wife MARY ANN, | Who Died 18th May 1951. | R.I.P. 3 Major James McKenna's grave, while not showing his name, dates back to 1666. Major McKenna died at the Battle of Drumbanagher in 1688. He was leader of the Jacobite Forces at the Battle of Drumbanagher. __________________________________________
