Brooklyn Daily Eagle, NY, August 1902
Mrs. Bridget French, mother of Dr. George P. French 
of this city is dead, aged 72. She was born in Queens County,
Ireland, and came to this country in 1850, settling 
in Rochester. Mrs. French has been more prominent
as an inventor than perhaps any woman in the United
States. She has devised and patented at least thirty-
six articles of utility, and up to the time of her death
was busy on others.
