The Boston Globe,  January 23, 1980
Mr. Walsh was born in Oughterard, County Galway, on March 16, 1904, the son of
John and Sabina (Burke) Walsh.  Mr. Walsh made his way to the United States in
1925, settling in Boston.  He was a security guard at the Boston Globe for
nearly 30 years before his retirement in 1974

A funeral mass will be said at 9 a.m. tomorrow (January 24) in Our Lady of the
Presentation Church, Brighton. Burial will be in St. Benedict's Cemetery, West
Roxbury. 

Mr. Walsh leaves his wife, Kathleen (Smith); a son, John F. Walsh of Glen Ellyn,
Ill.; two daughters, Patricia M. Walsh of Boston and Kathleen A. Rebello of
Alexandria, Va.; three brothers, John of Boston and Michael and William Walsh of
Oughterard; three sisters, Barbara Sullivan of Dorchester, Frances Ginty of
Roslindale and Margaret Fahy of Oughterard, and six grandchildren.
