These lands with the bog thereunto belonging, are held under leas, bearing date the 24th day of
June, 1764, from NICHOLAS FOSTER to MANUS O DONNELL, for 3 lives, with covenant for the perpetual
renewal, at the yearly rent of £160 sterling, late currency, equal to £147-13s-9.5d present
currency, and 5s late currency as a renewal fine on the fall of each life. The last Renewal from
ANDREW BROWNE, the head landlord to the late JAMES CUFF, bears date the 18th day of October, 1837,
and is for the lives of GREGORY ST LAURENCE CUFF, JAMES RUSSELL CUFF, and HENRY THOMAS CUFF, sons of
the said JAMES CUFF, all in being, the eldest being about 21 years of age. NICHOLAS JOHN PATRICK
FRENCH, Esq, (in whom all the estate and interest of said MANUS O DONNELL, subsequently became
vested,) by his will, dated 27th November, 1794, charged said lands with an annuity or yearly rent-
charge of £40 late currency, (equal to £36-18s-5.5d, present currency,) payable to MICHAEL WARD,
(therein named,) his heirs and assigns for ever. The lands are in the Co of Galway, on which there
is a Cottage residence, with offices, and considerable quantity of Plantation of about 20 years
growth, that tend to ornament and shelter the lands, which are of excellent quality, well watered,
and have an ample supply of fuel attached, and are situate on the line of road from Dunmore to
Ballinasloe, being about 15 miles from the former, and 12 miles from the latter town, and about 5.5
miles from the Railway Station at Woodlawn, and about 20 miles from the great Seaport and Railway
Station of Galway, and might be made a very desirable residence.
