Revd. Dr JOHN KINNEAR M.P. Grave: | (286) | Died 1909 - A distinguished
| Presbyterian minister and a strong | supporter of the Tenant's Rights
| Cause, elected an M.P. for Donegal | 1880-1886. | HANLON Grave (90) |
The final resting place of the five | sons of "REDMOND HANLEN, Merchant
in Letterkenny" together | with DAVID COYNGHAM and | "CATHERINE his
wife, daughter of | REDD HANLON" (different spelling). It | is believed
these may be the | children of the rapparee REDMOND | O'HANLON of
Armagh, though no | more than circumstantial proof has | been found to
date. | The BOYDS are one of the oldest | families of the parish and one
of the | senior families in Donegal for | centuries. For example, JOHN
BOYD | was a merchant of Letter-kenny | around 1590. It is believed that
they | were the last family in the parish to | drive a carriage and
pair.
