Glendermott Church 2. AITKINSON Tomb The Aitkinson family motto, "In Solitus Doguere Nisus". 3. The inscription on the large headstone on the left reads: Erected in Memory of James LONG , M.D.R.N. (of Ballynamore) Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Deputy Inspector General of Hospitals and Fleets. A friend to his friends. Born 27th December 1827 Died 16th September 1897. Also his niece Elizabeth Anderson GILFILLAN Dearly beloved daughter of William Long Died 3rd May 1916, aged 45 years. And her father William Long (Ballynamore) Died 1st April 1921, aged 87 years. (The dates may not be entirely correct, some of the lettering was weathered and difficult to read) 4. Nixon WADE The headstone above marks the grave of Nixon Wade, it was constructed from concrete and flint by a neighbour.
