By Gilbert FitzGerald Esq. one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for Carlow. The Information of Arthur Waters of Killoghternawn in Carlow who being duly Sworn on the Holy Evangelists Deposith and Saith that on the day of the fifteenth of June 1819 on the Fair of Gorsebridge in the County of Kilkenny he was assaulted and most cruelly beaten with Sticks Leaden whips etc. , without any provocation , by Andy Fenlon of Ballyellin in Said county being aided and assisted by Lawrence Doyle of Ballyellin and Michael Ellot, John Kelly and David Doyle all of Ballytigla, James and Andy Troy and Patt Doyle of Drimfea, Archibold and Walter Sly of Carrignafekea all in Said County . And Arthur Waters further Saith that James Troy , Nichlos Troy, Patt Doyle Archibold and Walter Sly aforesaid , threatened and attempted to beat him on several former occasions particularly at the Fair which was held at Myshall in the County aforesaid on the 10th day of May last, where they would have beaten him severely if he had not been saved from them by his friends. 10 Hours ~ Dublin to Carlow..... 1819. COVERED CARS, Between DUBLIN and TULLOW, every day, (Sundays excepted) START from No. 8, Mark's Alley, Francis-street at Eight o'Clock, and Arrive in Tullow before Six; - returning, they leave Tullow, at Seven and arrive in Dublin before Five. Royal Oak, in Dublin-street. JOSEPH LEONARD, Proprietor, returns his unfeigned Thanks to the Inhabitants of Carlow and its Vicinity, for the Preference heretofore given to his Establishment; and begs leave to inform them that he has fitted up above House as a HOTEL and LIVERY STABLES. He trusts from his unremitting Attention that those who may favour him with a Preference, will find such Accommodation as will merit a continuance of their Support LEONARD will Let, or Sell the Interest in his House, (known by the Sign of the Royal Oak), in Dublin-street, in the Town of Carlow, formerly occupied by Mr. J. Rochfort.
