The Jurors for our Lord the King upon their Oath say and present That Walter Magee of Tullow in the County of Carlow Yeoman Henry Whaley of the same in the said County Yeoman Daniel Horahan of the same in the said County Yeoman James Nowlan of the same in the said County Yeoman James Gillespy of the same in the said County Yeoman on the Twenty Seventh day of April at the Twenty Second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britains, Frances and Irelands King Defender of the Faith and Soforth with Force and Arms that is Say with Swords Sticks and So forth at Tullow in the County of Carlow forcibly unjustly and unlawfully did enter the Dwelling House of John Brough Gentleman with Intent the said John Brough and his Family then and there forcible unlawfully unjustly and injuriously and with Strong hand and with Force and Arms to Expel and put out of the possession of the said Dwelling House to the Great Terror of the said John Brough and also his Family to the evil .. Example of all others in the like Case offending and Contrary to the peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity.

Coulter Club Leighlinbridge, August 2, 1773.

The Members of the COULTER CLUB, having a just abhorance to the violent and wicked outrage committed lately on Mr John Gorman, by setting fire to a large parcel of hay belonging to him, in the deerpark at Garryhunden, in the county of Carlow, and entirely consuming the same; and being desirous of bringing to condign punishment the person or persons guilty of the villainous and atrocious a crime, do hereby offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS Sterl. for the discovering and prosecuting to conviction at any time, the the person or persons guilty of the said crime. The said reward to be paid immediately on conviction by THOMAS’ GURLY, Esq.
