The Carlow Guardians at their meeting on Thursday passed a resolution calling for the removal from the statute book of the obnoxious form of declaration required to be taken by the King when opening Parliament last week, as insulting and offensive to his Catholic subjects. Our London Lady Correspondent was amongst the first to call attention to this matter.

At the first meeting of the Select Vestry of Castledermot since the death of her Majesty Queen Victoria on the motion of Mr J. Hannon a vote of condolence with the King and the Royal Family was passed.
