NOTES by Peter Maher pgmaher@nb.sympatico.ca

I suspect the Denis WHELAN recorded as a witness to the marriage of Frances WHELAN, (4) above, is a relative, perhaps a sibling, but I can find nothing on him.  Also, I have an Ann WHELAN, born circa 1795 in County Carlow, who is my Maternal Gr.Gr.Grandmother whom I strongly suspect (perhaps hopefully is a better term) is also a daughter of John WHELAN and Catherine HYNES but, to date, have nothing to substantiate this suspicion.
