Description Mortgage made between Sir Charles Burton, city of Dublin, of the first part, the Honourable William Cuffe and Joseph Hoare, of same place, esquires, of the second part, and Joshua Meredith, of same place, esquire, of the third part. Recites indenture dated 12 February 1778 made between George Bunbury, Rathmore, county Carlow, esquire, of one part, and Sir Charles, of the other part. In consideration of sum of £5,000 paid to Bunbury by Sir Charles, Bunbury demises various lands to him: the townland of Cardingstown otherwise Cardiffstown, part of the townland of Churchtown, the townlands of Brackenagh otherwise Brackinagh, Shane, Phromplestown and other townlands, county Kildare, for 1,000 years at annual rent of one peppercorn. This indenture defeazable by repayment of sum of £5,000 with interest by Bunbury to Sir Charles. Also recites marriage settlement (document number P1/0249). Also recites that Joshua Meredith obtained a judgement against Sir Charles in the Court of Common Pleas during Easter Term, 1779, for the sum of £1,509.9.8 plus costs. Sum of £806 is now due. Meredith has also advanced to Sir Charles the sum of £194. Sir Charles now releases the sum of £5,000 to Meredith with interest due to grow thereon. If Sir Charles repays to Meredith the sums owing, Meredith's title ceases. It is noted that this deed was registered at the Register Office, city of Dublin, on 21 July 1779 in book 325, page 308, number 220599.

Description Statement by Stephen Goggin, Carlow, gentleman, that he is bound to Sir Charles Burton, Pollardstown (Pollerton), county Carlow, in the sum of £200 sterling. Recites that a suit has for some years been pending in the Court of Chancery in Ireland between Thomas, 1st Earl of Bective, and the trustees and executors of James Hamilton, Carlow, esquire, deceased, concerning the Lordship of Carlow. Sir Charles Burton is tenant to part of the disputed lands. Also recites that Diana Connon, executrix of Reverend Moses Roquier, by a writ of habere, gained possession of quarter of the rents of the lands. Sir Charles has agreed to pay her a quarter of his rent annually. A condition of the bond made here between Goggin and Sir Charles, is that if Goggin keeps Sir Charles indemnified against payment of rent to Connon, the bond will be void.

Description Lease made between Lorenzo Nickson and Abraham Nickson, esquires, surviving executors of the will of Abraham Nickson, deceased, who was surviving executor of the will of Lorenzo Hodson, esquire, deceased, of one part, and Sir Charles Burton, Pollerstown (Pollerton), county Carlow, of the other part. The parties of the first part have gained possession of certain lands through a writ of habere facias possessionem issued by the Court of Common Pleas in Ireland. These lands are leased to Sir Charles and are the townland of Raheen Pish [Rathnapish] and plots and tenements in the town of Carlow formerly known by the names of Nowland's plot, Conyers' dwelling house and Curtiss's plot, all in county Carlow. Lease to run for 21 years at annual rent of £12.

Description Indenture made between Katherine Keatinge, widow and executrix of Maurice Keatinge, late of Narraghmore, county Kildare, esquire, deceased, of the first part, Maurice Baganal St Leger Keating, Narraghmore, esquire, Major in the 22nd Regiment of Dragoons, eldest son and heir of the aforesaid Maurice Keatinge and Katherine Keatinge, of the second part, Sir Charles Burton, Pollardstown (Pollerton), county Carlow, and James Carroll, Ballynure, county Wicklow, of the third part. Recites that Katherine Keatinge, Sir Charles and Carroll together with Thomas Fitzgerald, Killmeed, county Kildare, esquire, became bound to Benjamin Bardon, city of Dublin, gentleman, by a bond dated 18 April 1778 conditioned for the payment of £1,800. Bardon obtained two judgements during Hilary Term 1778 against Sir Charles and Carroll, each for the sum of £3,600 plus costs. Recites that the sum of £1,800 was borrowed from Bardon for the purpose of purchasing a [commission] in the third Regiment of Dragoons and accoutrements for Maurice Keatinge. Indenture relates to the transfer of monies by Katherine Keatinge to Sir Charles and Carroll to indemnify them against repayment of the monies owing on the bond.

John Ridge, by his attorney John Doherty, came before the court and brought in his bill against Bernard Mahon in relation to a case of trespass and ejectment. Recites details of lease dated 29 May 1781 made between Sir Charles Burton and Ridge in respect of the lands of Knocknobodaly (Knockbodaly), county Kilkenny, for term of 21 years. Ridge claims that Mahon entered upon his lands and dispossessed him.

John Ball and Elizabeth Ball are the guardians of Elizabeth Walker. The latter is the only surviving child of Reverend Bartholomew Walker and his wife Frances Walker (otherwise Budds), both deceased. Details of original lease of which this is a renewal are not given but probably refers to document described as document number P1/0107.

They are to hold the lands for their own lives at annual rent of £5 (14) sum of £2,000 to be held upon trust by Joseph, 2nd Earl of Milltown, Sir Charles Burton and Nicholas Westby, esquire, for Smith's son, Henry Smith. (15) gives his lands upon trust to the aforesaid parties for his son, John Smith. Refers to the lands of Baltiboys and Burgage, county Wicklow, and Elverstown, county Dublin. Smith also makes recommendations about the education and future careers of his sons.
